I need help naming my band. We've finally reached that point where we've written and recorded an albumsworth of songs and want to start performaning locally. Alas, we need a name to be proud to stand behind.
So far we've thought of "Analog Android" and "Bermuda and The Triangles" but neither one really fits...
So I come to you, citizens of the comm - first to come up with a really awesome name will get the honor of being called "The one who named that band called [blank]"
how bout this, we'll also write a song about you and perform it at every show.
Let the games begin. |

Or was that someone else... |

| Well I play drums and guitar and sing and so does my friend Kyle and we switch per song. Id say were classified as garage rock - a lot of our sound is inspired by the old detroit rock bands like the gories and also stuff like yeah yeah yeahs and the greenhornes. Sort of a mellow yet energetic rock and roll. I suppose I could share some demos if that helps...P |

I just realized that all of our new recordings are on cassette and our old recordings are on my digital 16-track which i somehow missplaced (i have no idea how, its a 4x4 ft monster of a machine.) I'll have to find the 16-track and record some digital tracks on monday when we jam again.
in the meantime - keep the name ideas coming.
Remember what is at stake here. |

Necrovolver. Though, their last upload was three years ago. I think you're in the clear.
But yeah, give us some demos either way as soon as you can. We'd love to hear it. Unless it's awful. (But I kid! About the awful part. We really would love to hear it.) |

"Is this that Street Fighter Rock Opera?

It was someone else, but he was involved in the conversation and fell in love with the idea, so, he (and his band) might do it, but that's just me speculating. I really hope someone does it though, the extremely just okay Man Factory just does not feed my need for a Street Fighter Rock Opera.
Speaking of Street Fighter, I've been playing Third Strike like all week and keep thinking Q's win quote "I AM ABOMINATION" would be an awesome name for a rock band.
As Fireman said, Necrovolver is a sweet band name as well. All I can think of right now are geeky references for band names. I think we need to hear demos before we can come up with any fitting names for a band. Or.. uh.. do you have like some kind of message with your band or a theme, or like any recurring lyrical motifs? |

I'm actually really inspired by that idea and i've tried writing some stuff that would sound street fighter-esque and only came up with 1 epic-like song - But I'm saving that so i can make it into an Aragorn inspired song called "Flame of The West."
As for a reoccurring theme - we don't have any lyrical tablet of words that we use as motifs, or a certain habit of singing. It all sort of changes from song to song. as for the music, we use a lot of interesting equipment - Vox amp and effects for guitar - usually an epiphone casino hollowbody, Peavy Delta Blues for Keyboard, a Fender amp for vocals and a 5-piece Pearl trapset - so our sound motif is a lot of distortion and twangyness in the guitar accompanied by either 70's space keyboard or a really low tuned thumping drum.
that's generally the format.
also being that the first video i saw on that Necrovolver page was pretty awesome, I would feel bad for using the name anyway... news came in that "The Bermuda Triangles" is already some faggot hipster band so that screws our working title.
Like I said we'll be definately meeting up Monday and re-recording - possibly tommorrow if things go well, and I will record some new tracks to post up here as soon as possible.
thanks for the feedback so=far though guys. It's super cool of you. |

| Dude, you needs to get me them recordings. I'm actually getting my old bluesy band back together, with a new singer. We're renaming. The stuff is generally themed around the universal constants of sex and violence. I proposed a name to them, and they didn't like it so you can have it if you want. I wanted to call the band The best Parts of the Bible. Your's for the taking. |

I would have to agree with Steamlord D, 'Hollow Distortion' so far sounds like one of the best suggestions so far. It also sounds kick ass. |
