I'm a big fan of Post-Rock, so I'm mostly going to post post-rock bands. You've been warned.
The Evpatoria Report - This swiss band is, well, amazing. Very long tracks, like good old alt-rock, with many atmospheres changes. No lyrics. Just music. Love it or hate. This.
Mono - I'm usually not the only to like when "it's from japan", and especially when it immediately creates "J-something" category. Fortunately, Mono is an amazing post-rock band. With an orchestra. Oh God how I love this track.
More to come. |

METALACHI.
Yes, a metal mariachi cover band. Basically they take classic metal songs and do it in the style of a mariachi band. It's completely amazing. |

Just copy/pasting this directly from my Tumblr:
Today (Black Friday) only, if you go here and use the promo code STUDYBRK in the green box on the right, you'll get a free two dollar credit to use toward any two songs on Random Encounter's newest album, Unavenged. If you take a screenshot of your order and send it to randomencounterband@gmail.com, or forward them your confirmation email, they'll provide you with a link to download the full album for free. Random Encounter are relatively new (their debut album came out just last year) but have already performed with acts like I Fight Dragons and the Protomen, and track 5 on this album even features Sir Robert Bakker from the Protomen on guitar. Also, their lead singer plays accordion. Their live act and Unavenged is a mix between video game cover songs and original material; take this offer to both score some sweet music for free and help out the band. |

| For people that like chiptunes, Anamanaguchi is awesome. I also listen to a lot of Kerli, but I'm not sure if her sound would appeal to protomen fans. She's a lot more pop-ish. However, I encourage you to prove me wrong and listen to some of her music. |

Anamanaguchi is good but I can only deal with them in small doses. :(
I think it's because their stuff kinda feels repetitive to me after a few songs.
However, chiptunes are my jaaaaaam!
Even though I say that about a lot of music. :/ |

So... a band on Twitter wanted to follow me. Well, I checked them out and holy mother of all that's holy. They're friggin' awesome.
I'm seriously addicted to their new album. Also, another reason to click that link is cause you can download their "Trees and Parks" album. It's so rad. |
