Hello topic! I've been plunking on bass guitar since high school thanx to Geddy Lee. I can't say that I'm any good, but I can play my favorite songs! "This here Giraffe" by the Flaming Lips and "Shippensburg" by CKY are a couple I rock out to and "Southbound Pachyderm" by Primus is a must! Bass just feels good. I jammed in a band many years ago and it was fun while it lasted.

Bass players don't have to be good. I have proved this, because I record all my own bass tracks (when I do use a real bass) and I am terrible. Nobody has ever noticed.

I dunno. I think bass is down played by most rock guitarists. I love a super thick, present bass.

I've been playing upright bass for about 5 years now, and electric bass for fourish. Best instrument I've ever played, I think. Three years ago, my old man gave me a guitar, which I suck at. But faking it isn't that hard. I have a drum kit, but I can't play it very well. Or at all.

ive been playing clarinet for about twelve years and bassoon for about five. both were for band class and though i still love playing clarinet on occasion, ive fallen out of love for the classically trained music setting.
still trying to play/learn keyboard for about 7 years, im ok enough to write my own stuff, but not ok enough to perform anything on it.
picked up an acoustic guitar over last summer and learned chords/strums to, oh, 20-ish songs in the first month. my first song being Intermission by none other than the protomen Very Happy and with it i also learned a bunch of bass parts just for fun. currently trying to learn kraid (http://www.metroidmetal.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/metroid_kraid.mp3)from metroid metal/stemage on both bass and guitar.
i also sing bass, but im pretty bad at anything but choral works Sad

i want my own guitar.........

edit: fixed the url

Good luck with the CD, Onslaught! I play electric bass, and have for about a year now. I'm ok, not nearly where I want to be. Who ever is though, neh?
