Actually, since you're playing the lead part, you should be playing single notes (not chords) an octave up from the intro riff. Starting with the first A on the G string, yo. The rhythm is taking care of the part you're doing.
Also, during the chorus parts you shouldn't be chugging inbetween the notes. I know you're interpreting it but I feel like you're making the rhythm too complicated in those bits.
